Betacam video looks like a VHS on steriods
Jason brought in a Betacam video tape of his wedding in 2000. We don’t get these too often but we are transferring it to DVD for him to be able to watch again with his bride.
Trunks of photo albums to scan
Ron, is the keeper of all the old family photo albums made by his grandmother, Dorothy. He is having us scan two trunks full of old family albums and save them to disk. All the siblings are pitching in to pay for it and ultimately all of them will get a copy.
Sioux Indian Treaty of 1868
Steve brought in images of a treaty signed between the Sioux Indians and Andrew Jackson in 1868. It is quite a national treasure. We scanning in his images and printed out each page to 12” x 18” on heavy paper, laminated all the 44 pages and then bound it in a rich brown leather hard cover binding. It smells and looks fabulous!
Accessing Floppy, Zip & Jaz Discs
They are unique and uncommon but we can access them. We’ve had the Zip drive and a Floppy drive for quite awhile but just got a Jaz drive. We can transfer all of your info off of these old disks and onto a disc or flash drive for much easier access.

Maybe your family doesn’t have a bunch of traditions that you do currently. Consider renewing some old traditions or perhaps start some new ones. You might try: bake a special dish for a holiday meal every year, write your child a letter every year on their birthday but don’t give it to them until they leave for college, read a story to your child every night (or a special story for the holidays), the options are certainly endless.

To preserve those numerous memories she took lots of photos – of the collection of the nick-knacks, colorful rooms and interesting artwork. Instead of keeping the house and furnishings as a shrine to her parents she made a special book of the memories of her parents’ home and the places they went to when they visited.
