Lauraine is one of our many clients who brought in VHS to be transferred to digital files.  One video was highlights from a wedding.  Figuring the toasts at the reception might be interesting.  I found the parents of the groom having babies on their mind already…..and the bride did too!

Ruth had us make a 14” x 14” collage from 4 generations of photos.  We changed all the color photos and sepia photos to black and white. We started with scanning, editing, proofing and finally printing.

Emma brought in an audio cassette to be transferred to mp3 files.  She was referred to us by someone at the Poudre Library.  Most of the recording was loud energetic music but there were a few priceless bits of family members talking about the merits of coffee and whisky (opens up your arteries or kills your brain cells….you decide).

Lost Recording, Love Letters, Family Tree & Generation Photo

Five years ago we transferred 7 audio reel-to reels and ripped several CDs for Bobby who mailed his media to us from Maine.  We transferred all of it to 14 flash drives and shipped it all back.  This year that client wrote to us to tell us the significance of what we transferred.  In the midst of it was some music of his famous uncle Billy Dean Andrus that had be lost for 50 years.  It has now been release for the first time thanks to our transfer work.  He also got it pressed to vinyl recently.  The group he played with was known as Weird Herald. Listen to his newly released “Just Yesterday”  here.

Tom brought in several photo albums for us to scan all of the pages and save the files in to a different folder for each album he brought.  One of the pages included this unique family tree.  It included birth and death dates.  I think part of its unique design was due to some people having lots of children.

Dixie brought in the digital file of one of the books her mother published of her memoirs.  At first she just had us print one copy to “see how it went”.  We printed it as 8.5 x 5.5 with maroon buckram and gold titles stamped on the spine and cover.  Then, she came back in and had us print a total of 3 copies of 3 volumes.

Debbie had us copy all of the photos and videos from her iphone and from cloud storage on to a 1TB external hard drive.  She had over 27,000 files.  We can more readily copy them if we have your username and password.

Carrie brought in over 1800 slides for us to scan and save on a flash drive.  I enjoyed the title slide that Kodak would give to you to project when you rip start showing your slideshow.  I also liked the one with her son “planted” in the ground where they dug a hole for a pole.

Julie brought in a collection of old photos and an old letter to scan and make digital.  The multi-page letter is the only surviving love letter between her grandpa and her grandma.  The handwriting is exquisite and the message is sweet.  Here I included their wedding photo, the envelope and the first & last page of his letter.

Sandra brought in a collection of slides and negatives of her relatives for us to scan in and save to a flash drive and to print out for her.  It included this image of 3 little girls with lots of yellow roses.  It was twin girls who had a cousin who was similar in age.

Tana brought in a collection of Super8 films to be transferred to digital mp4 files.  It contained lots of fun family events through the years.  One person in the family worked for the Wyoming Game &Fish Department in the 1960s.  We captured this footage of fish restocking in a river.  She also had footage of some buffalo rolling round in the dirt. Presumably they were trying to scratch off their heavy winter coat. His scratching got to close to another which caused a bit of a tussle. Bring in your super8 films so you can relive some old memories from your childhood.
