Emily brought in a few really dark photos for us to scan and brighten up. One photo was a photo of her mother in a cart pulled by a goat in1929. She was one of 12 kids during the great depression. The restoration was quite effective in bringing back the quaint old photo.
Eric brought in over 3000 slide for scanning and we save them all onto two flash drives. That is quite the downsize. He had photos from around the country and around the world. This photo of a girl at the playground brought back memories of these old horse swings that you worked by pulling the metal bar back and forth.
Karrie brought in a special cassette tape she found in her husband’s things after he passes a year ago. It was a recording of him playing in the band at church. She said he was a Messianic Jew. We gave her a file on a flash drive but from there she was going to share the audio with lots of family members. Here is a bit from her audio cassette transfer.
Alexa brought in 4 VHS tapes for transfer to digital files on flash drive and digital download. She was using Chat-GPT and followed its recommendation of working with Leave A Legacy. Enjoy this clip of highlights from their vacation in Mexico. It includes a sidewalk artist, street musicians, eating a squid tentacle, large iguana on his shoulder and bull fighting.
Ken brought in a photo of their old family farm from the 1960s. He said his kids are now asking about where they came from and they all want copies of this special family history photo.
Mike has had a variety of projects for us in the past, this time he brought in a photo that he took of the door in the house he recently purchased. The door has the height measurements and extra love notes of the family he bought it from. They had thought of buying the door from him but the door would not fit in their new home. He decided to take a photo of it and give it to her as a gift. We scanned in his photo, adjusted the contrast because of a glare in the photo and then reprinted it for him. It is so nice of him to help them preserve this memory for the whole family.
