I’ve been busy for the last several months working on a large scanning job for the National Forest Service down the road from us.  We had to purchase a special scanner to meet with their specifications.   All documents are scanned as searchable PDF so that they can be added to a Government data base so that researchers can more readily access the information.  We will continue working on this for the next several months.  I  am squeezing out a newsletter in my day between batches for them.  Ok, so I wrote this back in July and only had the one day break.  We ended up scanning 14000 slides for them as well.  I think their program is all out of money now so I have some time again to work on a long overdue newsletter.

Robert brought in these biking videos that inspired him to ride professionally, he did stunt tours around the world for years before retiring during the COVID pandemic. One of these videos is no longer available online, which prompted him to bring all three video tapes to us to make digital for him.  Here is a small clip of the trick biking videos with a fun warning at the start.

Tom brought in a collection of slides for us to digitize.  He had photo highlights from around the world.  Here is a photo he had over Wake Island in a Phantom aircraft while it was refueling.

Pat brought in a collection of regular 8 films to be transferred in high definition and burred onto Blu-ray discs.  What a variety of memories they contain.  You can see all sorts of old cars and even one gold plated car with guns as door handles.  See this highlight clip of some of the fun scenes.

I’ve been working on lots of books of various types.  I halted my National Forest Service scanning for a few days and finished up 5 separate book projects at once.  Recent books were about a child’s growing up years, a special trip to Kazakhstan, bird photography, family history from 1828-1956, Indian Treaties and rebinding some old books.

We’ve been in our new location for 1 year!  We enjoy the nicer building, more space and that we own it ourselves.  If you haven’t been in yet please stop in and see our growing Museum of Obsolete Media.
